Renton Municipal Airport (RNT)

Renton Municipal Airport provides mostly general aviation services, but it has scheduled passenger service by a local flight service company to the San Juan Islands.

Location: The airport is located approximately 12 miles/19 km southeast of downtown Seattle at the south end of Lake Washington.  It is also approximately 6 miles/9 km northeast of Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.

Highway ConnectionsExits 2 and 4 to Interstate Highway 405 are close to the south side of the airport.  Interstate 5 at Exit 154 is to the west of the airport.

Road Conditions: Road conditions should be checked on the Washington Department of Transportation web site, especially from late fall through the winter and early spring when snow and ice may be factors.  This web site also has other information that will be of interest to travelers.  The site also has a map showing current traffic conditions in the Puget Sound area around Seattle.

Car Rentals: Car rentals are available locally.

Parking: Parking facilities are available at the airport.

Airport Facilities and Services: Passenger services are limited.

Web Site:  The airport's official web site has basic aviation information about the airport.

Ground Transportation: Taxis are available for service from the airport.

Metro Transit of King County has several bus routes that serve the Renton area and provide connections to other transit systems including the Washington State Ferries that operate on Puget Sound. The Metro Transit web site provides very useful information regarding these connections.

Another important part of the transportation system in the Seattle/Puget Sound area is the Washington State Ferries. Their web site is very informative regarding routes, schedules and related matters. Information is also available on this web site for non-state ferry services operating to Victoria, British Columbia and other ports on the Puget Sound.

Hotels, Motels and Restaurants: There is a large selection of hotels, motels and restaurants in Seattle, near Seattle-Tacoma International Airport and in the surrounding area.
