Bellingham International Airport (BLI) Bellingham International is a small regional airport with commercial flights to several regional destinations. It also provides general aviation services. The Port of Bellingham's web site has airline, flight and other information. Location: The airport is located on the north side of Bellingham and Bellingham Bay, west of Interstate 5. Highway Connections: Exit 258 for Interstate 5 is a short distance to the east of the airport via Airport Drive. Road Conditions: Road conditions should be checked on the Washington Department of Transportation web site, especially from late fall through the winter and early spring when snow and ice may be factors. This web site also has other information that will be of interest to travelers. Car Rentals: A good selection of car rentals is available on the airport Parking: Parking facilities are available on the airport grounds. Airport Facilities and Services: Limited services for passengers are available. Web Site: The Port of Bellingham's web site is a good source of information for commercial passengers and private pilots. Ground Transportation: Taxis and shuttle services operate from the airport to surrounding communities. Greyhound long-distance bus and Amtrak rail services can be connected to at the Fairhaven station in town. The ferry terminal on the south side of town has services to Alaska and the San Juan Islands. Alternate Airports: Airports that may serve as alternates for ground destinations in the area include Seattle-Tacoma International Airport and Oak Harbor for points in the eastern area of Puget Sound. Vancouver International Airport in British Columbia could be an alternate for ground destinations in the area of the Canadian border. Hotels, Motels and Restaurants: There is a good selection of hotels, motels and restaurants in Bellingham and nearby communities. |
