Airport Description: Richmond International Airport (RIC) is served by national and regional carriers with direct flights to other cities in the United States and Canada. Airport Location: The airport terminal is approximately 7 miles east of downtown Richmond.
Highway Connections: The airport terminal is near Exit 197A (Airport Drive) on Interstate 64 and south of Exit 31 (Airport Drive) on I-295. Interstate 64 connects with Interstate 95 at Exit 75 in downtown Richmond. Interstate 295 northbound connects with I-95 at Exit 84 north of Richmond. Interstate 295 southbound connects with I-95 at Exit 46 south of Petersburg. The airport's official web site has a very good map of routes near the airport. The Pocahontas Parkway is on the south side of the airport. It connects Exit 27 on I-295 with Exit 67 on I-95 on the south side of Richmond.
Highway Routes from the Airport: From the airport terminal turn north on Airport Drive to I-64 and I-295 northbound. I-64 runs east and south to I-295 southbound, Williamsburg, Newport News and Norfolk and runs west to downtown Richmond, Charlottesville and Waynesboro. I-295 leads northbound to I-95 which runs to Fredericksburg and the Washington, DC area. I-295 southbound leads to Petersburg.
