The highway log for US101 is displayed in a north-to-south format beginning with Olympia, WA; although, it and this end section of the highway are south of Gardiner on the east side of the Olympic Peninsula. Olympia is the theoretical north end of US101. The section from Gardiner to Beaver runs east to west across the northern area of the Olympic Peninsula. The remainder of the highway runs north to south except for a final segment that runs west to east to Los Angeles. The mileage/kilometer readings for points along this highway are measured from the junction of US101 and Interstate 5 in Los Angeles, CA and increase as the highway runs northward through California, Oregon and Washington. US101 is a major highway passing through a variety of terrains from the heavily populated Los Angeles area through agricultural country, vineyards, forests and coastal communities. Many places along the route are rich in historical and scenic treasures. The navigation bar to the left provides links to the state home pages and a number of the larger communities on the highway. Links to more communities along this route are provided in state and county sections shown on other pages. Alongside the community name is a number indicating its mileage reading from the I-5 junction close to downtown Los Angeles. Click on the point of your choice to move to that section of the highway log. The highway log files are mostly based on counties so that you can print sections that are of interest to you.
