The Three Capes Scenic Loop

This highway log runs west and south from its junction with US101 in the city of Tillamook in Tillamook County to its southern junction with US101.  The highway passes Cape Meares at the northern end of the coastal section.  Cape Lookout is centrally located with Cape Kiwanda at the southern end of the highway adjacent to the coast.  This loop also provides access to the Robert Straub State Park to the west of Pacific City, which is near the southern junction with US101.  This short highway makes for a very pleasant and scenic diversion from the main Pacific Coast Highway, US101.

These web sites are excellent resources for discovering and enjoying the scenic attractions and wildlife along the Oregon Coast:  The Oregon Coast Trail Guide, the Pacific Coast Scenic Byway, the Oregon Coast Birding Trail, Whale Watching Spoken Here and the Oregon Islands National Wildlife Refuge.  The first four of these sites have useful maps to assist with driving and other directions.
During rainy seasons in early spring Tillamook County is occasionally subject to flooding that causes some highways to be impassable.
