Maryland's Office of Tourism and Development has a web site that provides and extensive amount of information to help visitors discover the state's many places of interest and its attractions.  The web pages of the Department of Natural Resources are an excellent resource to learn about the state parks and to discover outdoor recreational opportunities.

Visitors with an interest in the history of Maryland will enjoy a visit to the State Archives web site.  The Maryland Historical Society is another excellent resource for people with an interest in the history of this state and its people.  Its offices are located in Baltimore.

The National Park Service has properties in Maryland that are among the state's most popular attractions. 

The National Cryptologic Museum at Fort Meade has very interesting exhibits related to intelligence gathering.

The US Fish and Wildlife Service has a large number of locations throughout the United States that will appeal to travelers with an interest in nature, wildlife, archeology and history.

The Annapolis and Anne Arundel County web site is an excellent place to begin a discovery of attractions and places of interest in and around the state's capital.

Talbot County, south of Annapolis, is in the heart of Chesapeake Bay and the locale for James Michener's historical novel, "Chesapeake."  The islands and their working fishing boats are among the areas many attractions.
