Santa Barbara Municipal Airport (SBA)

The airport is a regional airport providing commercial passenger, charter and general aviation services. Flight schedules are available on the airport's web site.

Location:  Santa Barbara airport is located 10 miles/16 km west of downtown Santa Barbara. It is adjacent to the south side of the city of Goleta and the University of California Santa Barbara campus.

Highway Connections: Traveling west (officially in the northbound lanes) exit south on CA217. Traveling east (officially in the southbound lanes) towards Santa Barbara exit south on Fairview Avenue.

Parking: Short and long-term parking facilities are available on the airport grounds.

Alternate Airports:  Other airports that may be suitable for ground destinations in the area include Los Angeles International (LAX), Oxnard (OXR) in Ventura County, and Santa Maria (SMX).

Ground Transportation: A variety of transportation services - taxis, buses, rail transit, shuttles, limousines, trains - is available at the airport or in Santa Barbara for transfer to other destinations.

The Santa Barbara Metropolitan Transit District web site provides good information on bus services that are available in and around Santa Barbara. The Santa Barbara Metropolitan Transit District is the main service provider in the southern portion of Santa Barbara County, including Santa Barbara, Goleta, Montecito, Summerland and Carpinteria. The bus route between the Transit Center in downtown Santa Barbara and the University of California at Santa Barbara Campus stops at the airport.

Amtrak rail services to other destinations can be connected to in Santa Barbara.

Hotels, motels and restaurants:  There is a good selection of hotels, motels and restaurants in Santa Barbara and other communities adjacent to US101. Several hotels and motels provide shuttle service between their facilities and the airport.
