London: A Social History by Roy Porter (One-volume history by Harvard University Press) Tours of locations in London associated with Winston Churchill have become popular with people interested in this great British statesman. His latest biography, Churchill: A Biography by Roy Jenkins, a former Member of Parliament, will introduce readers to many of the addresses in London where Churchill served in various roles. The biography by Martin Gilbert is regarded as among the best of one-volume publications. Many readers will probably find the latter author to be less challenging.
