The Confederation Centre of the Arts promotes artistic and cultural events on the island.

Prince Edward Island National Park is on the north shore of the island where it protects and preserves sand dunes, barrier islands, beaches, sandstone cliffs, wetlands, forests and variety of plants and animals, including the endangered Piping Plover. 

The Hillsborough River and the Three Rivers have been designated as Canadian Heritage Rivers in Prince Edward Island.
