Welcome to the Kochi Prefecture

The Kochi Prefecture is on the island and region of Shikoku which is to the south of the Chugoku and Kansai Regions in the southwestern area of Honshu, Japan's principal island.

The official web site for the prefecture has an English version with information about the prefecture including tourism and transportation.

The city of Kochi, which overlooks Tosa Bay and the Pacific Ocean, has good information on its web site for planning travel to this area.

The Kochi Guide Book is a very good source of information in English with an introduction to the area's history, culture and places of interest.

The Museum of Art and the Noichi Ryoma Historical Museum are among the important cultural attractions in this prefecture.  The Yasakoi Festival is an annual event held in August in Kochi.

Airport:  Kochi Airport has flights to other domestic airports.
