Welcome to the Oita Prefecture

Oita Prefecture is on the island and region of Kyushu which is across from the Chugoku Region at the southwestern end of Honshu, Japan's principal island. 

The official web site for the prefecture has an English version with information about the prefecture including tourism and transportation.  The Oita Municipal Guide Book is an excellent source of information in English about the prefecture.

The Oita, Beppu and Hita web sites have information in English about their cities and places of interest.

The Aso-Kuju National Park extends over the Kumamoto and Oita prefectures.

Airport:  Oita Airport has flights to Osaka and Tokyo domestic airports.
