Welcome to the Fukuoka Prefecture

Fukuoka Prefecture is on the island and region of Kyushu which is across from the Chugoku Region at the southwestern end of Honshu, Japan's principal island.

The official web site for the prefecture has an English version with information about the prefecture including tourism and transportation. 

The Fukuoka City Sightseeing Information Station is a good source of information in English for tourist information.

The web sites for the cities of Fukuoka and Kitakyushu have information in English to assist visitors with travel planning and learning of the cities' attractions.

Airports:  Fukuoka International Airport (FUK) has a number of international flights to Asian and Pacific Ocean destinations in addition to other domestic airports.

Ground transportation services are available at the airport to surrounding communities.  There are also special transportation services to US military installations on the island of Kyushu.

Kitakyushu Airport has flights to other domestic airports.

United States National Weather Service is a very good English-language source for weather information at Fukuoka airport.

The Tsushima and Iki Islands to the northwest of Fukuoka have airports.
