The Kanto Region surrounds Tokyo and is centrally located on Honshu, Japan's principal island. The Chubu Region is to the west and the Tohuku Region is to the north. The Pacific Ocean forms the east and south coasts of the region. The Chiba, Gunma, Ibaraki, Kanagawa, Saitama, Tochigi and Tokyo prefectures combine to form the Kanto Region.
In addition to Tokyo, Yokohama and Kawasaki are among the better-known cities in this region.
