Welcome to the Gunma Prefecture

Gunma (Gumma) Prefecture is to the north of Tokyo in the Kanto Region which is centrally located on Honshu, Japan's principal island.

The official web site for the prefecture has an English version with information about the prefecture including tourism and transportation.

The Takasaki and Maebashi city web sites have information in English and other languages about their communities and places of interest for visitors.

Joshin'etsu Kogen National Park is in the Gunma, Nagano and Niigata prefectures.
