The official web site for the prefecture has an English version with information about the prefecture including tourism and transportation. Airports: There are two airports in Osaka. Osaka-Kansai International Airport (KIX) was built on a specially constructed island in Osaka Bay and is one of the major international airports in Japan. Domestic routes are also served at Kansai airport. There is a good supply of taxi and limousine services, but international visitors should be prepared for very high rates if these services are used. Buses are also available to the rail and ferry terminals in Osaka and to a number of cities in the surrounding area. There is a connecting bus service between Kansai and Itami airports. The Japan National Tourist Organization web site has a page with very useful information for traveling to and from Kansai airport. Osaka-Itami Airport (ITM) is now used for domestic flights. Bus and rail services connect several surrounding communities with Itami airport. The United States National Weather Service is a very good English-language source for weather information at Osaka.
