Welcome to the Yamanashi Prefecture

The Yamanashi Prefecture is part of the Chubu Region which is centrally located on the island of Honshu. 

The official web site for the prefecture has an English version with information about the prefecture including tourism and transportation.

The Fujiyoshida, Kofu, Minami-Alps web sites have information in English about places of interest in their cities. The Road to the Heavens pages on the Fujiyoshida web site is a guide to climbing Mount Fuji from the north side.

The Kushigata Shunsen Museum of Fine Arts is an important cultural attraction in this prefecture.

The Chichibu-Tama-Kai National Park is in the Saitama and Yamanashi prefectures.  The Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park extends from Yamanashi and Kanagawa prefectures to the Izu Islands in the Tokyo prefecture.  The Minami Alps National Park extends into Yamanashi, Nagano and Shizuoka prefectures.
