Welcome to the Nagano Prefecture

The Nagano Prefecture is part of the Chubu Region which is centrally located on the island of Honshu. 

The official web site for the prefecture has an English version with information about the prefecture including tourism and transportation.

The Shinshu University web site has very good guides to Nagano and its hot springs to assist with travel planning and discovering places of interest.

The Japan Ukiyo-e Museum, the Henry Miller Museum of Art, the Nagano Prefectural Shinano Art Museum and the Sezon Museum of Modern Art are among the important cultural attractions in the Nagano prefecture.

Joshin'etsu Kogen National Park is in the Gunma, Nagano and Niigata prefectures.  The Chubu Sangaku National Park extends over the Gifu, Nagano, Toyama and Niigata prefectures.
