Welcome to Tripura

Agartala, in West Tripura, is the capital of the state.  Tripura is in the northeastern area of India where it is bounded on the north, south and west by Bangladesh and the Indian states of Assam and Mizoram to the east.

The official web site for the government of Tripura has information about places of interest for visitors and an introduction to the state and to the crafts and culture of its people.  The site also has a collection of useful maps that will be helpful in planning travel within Tripura.

The Government Museum at Agartala has a large collection of artifacts related to the history and the arts and crafts of Tripura.

The Sepahijala Wildlife Sanctuary is one of four in Tripura.  The others are the Trishna (in the South District), Gumti and Rowa sanctuaries.

Airport:  Agartala Airport handles domestic flights.  It is about 7 miles / 12 km from the city.
