The Kanha Tiger Reserve in the Kanha National Park is among the state's most important attractions.
The Buddhist Monuments at Sanchi, the Khajuraho Group of Monuments and the Rock Shelters of Bhimbetka have been designated as World Heritage Sites by UNESCO. The Group of Monuments at Mandu is on a tentative list for World Heritage Status by UNESCO.
Airports: Bhopal, Gwalior, Indore, Jabalpur and Khajuraho airports handle domestic flights. They are all within short distances of their respective cities.
