Karnataka was formerly known as Mysore. Its capital is Bangalore. Karnataka is in the southwestern area of India with a coastline on the Arabian Sea. Goa and Maharashtra are to the north, Andhra Pradesh is to the east, and Tamil Nadu and Kerala are to the south.
