Welcome to Arunachal Pradesh

Itanagar in the Papumpare district is the capital of the state.  Arunachal Pradesh is in the northeasternmost corner of India where it adjoins the state of Assam to the south.  Bhutan is to the west, Tibet is to the north and east.  A small section of the southeastern corner is adjacent to the Sagaing and Kachin provinces of Myanmar (Burma).

The governor's web site has a brief introduction to the state's history and a useful map of the state.  The official web site for the state has information on a wide variety of topics including tourism, traditional arts and crafts and places of interest.

The Namdapha National Park is on a tentative list for World Heritage Status by UNESCO.
