Hyderabad is the capital of the state. Andhra Pradesh is in the southeastern area of India where it shares borders with Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh and Orissa to the north, Karnataka to the west, and Tamil Nadu to the south. The Bay of Bengal provides a coastline to the east.
