Welcome to Yunnan Province

The official web site for the Yunnan government has Chinese and English versions.  The English version has information and a useful map to assist with travel planning.

The Yunnan Provincial Tourism Information Center web site is a very good resource for planning travel to this area.

The Municipality of Kunming is only in Chinese.

The Old Town of Lijiang and the Three Parallel Rivers of Yunnan Protected Areas have been declared  World Heritage Sites by UNESCO.

The Lunan Stone Forest Scenic Zone, the Dali Chanshan Mountain and Erhai Lake Scenic Spot, the Honghe Hani Terraced Fields and the protection zone of Chengjiang fossil lagerstätte have been submitted for World Heritage Status to UNESCO.

The South China Karst, centered in Guizhou province and including part of Yunnan province, has been submitted for World Heritage status to UNESCO.

Airports:  There are airports at Dali, Jinghong, Kunming, Lincang, Simao, Xishuang and Lijiang.  The official web sites for Kunming Wujiaba International Airport, Dali Airport, Lincang Airport, Xishuang Banna Airport and Lijiang Airport are only in Chinese.
