The Ruins of Jiaohe Ancient City in Turban City, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region have been submitted for World Heritage Site status to UNESCO.
The Chinese section of the Silk Road running from Xi'an City, Sha'anxi Province, going all the way to the west along Hexi Corridor in Gansu Province and through Xinjiang Uighur Autonomous Region has been submitted for World Heritage status to UNESCO.
