The Great Wall in Liaoning, Jilin, Hebei, Beijing, Tianjin, Shanxi, Inner Mongolia, Shaanxi, Ningxia, Gansu, Xinjiang, Shandong, Henan, Hubei, Hunan, Sichuan and Qinghai provinces has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
The 3,300-year-old Yin Ruins located in Anyang City in central China's Henan Province, dubbed the root of Chinese culture, was included on the World Heritage list on July 13, 2006 at the 30th Session of the World Heritage Committee (WHC) in Lithuania, a day after the giant panda habitat in Sichuan Province. The Songshan Area has been submitted for World Heritage status to UNESCO.
