Capital:  Maputo City

Airports:  The airport at Maputo is the primary airport for international travel.  Beira, Lichanga, Nampula, Pemba, Quelimane, Tete City are served by domestic flights operated by LAM-Linhas Aéreas de Moçambique, the Mozambique airline.

Currency:  The metical (MT) is the basic monetary unit.  For the current rate of exchange visit the Olson and Anderson web site. US dollars and South African rands are readily accepted in Mozambique.

Time Zones:  Current local time. Standard time is two hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT).  

Languages:    Portuguese is the official language with several regional languages also in use.  English is taught in school to increase the possibility of residents having some facility.
