The Democratic Republic of the Congo was formerly referred to as Zaire.

Time Zones:  Kinshasha (west) region: Current local time. Standard time is one hour ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT).  Lumumbashi (east) region: Current local time. Standard time is two hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT).
